To Katie Buek. or Whom This Concerns,
The elevator door closed on me 3 times due to having sensor issues. They are apparently not wheelchair friendly!
Friday the 17th the Head Nurse Joann in Labor and Delivery, told me I could not have My "brand New",
"COURT APPOINTED"
wheekchair on her floor saying "I dont know where your dirty wheels have been, this is a sterile room. You
can leave it out in the
waiting room and walk in to see her." Was she mocking me? leaving me feeling less human as I am a fall risk?
I sat in the hall by
the doors waiting for word of what was going on. I was not there for my daughter when she needed me most. On the
21st I came to
see my grandson and their was a fire alarm going off. I sat in the elevator for at least 20 min before the security
guard reset it. I was
trying to get out, I have clusterphobia, when the door closed on my wheelchair slaming me to the left. Went to
my daughters room
and let them know what happened and that I was going to the er. As I was getting back on the elevator ,same one,
it tried slamming
shut on me again and a woman on it held the door using pressure to reopen it all the way, so I could get on. We
got to the ER to
find out that someone else was using my SSI number again, had to call the police to make another report of idenity
theft.The Treige
nurse was rude to my wife as she tryed to explain my situation, as I get things jumbled at times, and she never
asked what meds I
was on, Or what I was alergic to. My wife mentioned my ankle but they did xrays of my hips and did not address
my ankle and they
also refused to check my neck,my wife ask because she was concerned about the jarring as I had a neck fusion last
year that has not
healed correctly. They gave me two traMADOL Hydrochloride 50mg tablets, which I have an adverse reaction to and
my wife did
say something when she found out. I was seen by a female Dr. (Blonde hair) and large male nurse, they were rude
and made me
wait so long I missed visiting my daughter and grandson after 1 and a half hours I left because the Dr. was not
coming back to
disclose her findings and the male nurse came in with my discharge papers..We demanded to see the Dr who bluntly
said You have
arthritis in both hips.. (1st I heard that in my life) and she said have a good evening smug and left. So we went
home since we
missed visiting time. I went to Episcapal hospital for the ankle to be xrayed. My left ankle is sprained and possiblely
has torn
ligaments, also was given mucsle relaxers for my neck, in their opinion it felt like a lymphnoid (she didn't know
of my fushion?)
We did tell the triage nurse and she to was a rude un caring person making threats to me.. Friday the 31st I went
to Northeastern
Hospital for a csan of my neck at my surgons request as I had a broken neck previously. I am in litigation for
malpractice from a
boched neck fushion and looking at further surgery and want to settle this incident away from my case.
Since my wife and daughter lost time at work and personal activities and I am now stuck in all summer, after being
house stricken
for a little over a year. I had to have my wheelchair repaired (And I just recieved my wheelchair 3 weeks prior
to this from
Premiere Therapy *brand new*.) and my family is alternating days to take care of me. All this because of a technical
malfunction
in which the security guard witnessed, seen on film and wrote out an incident report. Penn hospital calling us
and admitting fault
so I would like to be compensated for the worst hospital experience I've had in my life leaving me in fear of elevators
and other
machinical devices. I would like to compensate my loved ones and friends for lost wages and using free time to
look after me. my
loved ones who are now utilizingtime mangement to tend to me due to my situation from a technical malfunction on
your part.
So I find that upon your agreement of this I will sign away any rights of claims. if you prefer to settle this
issue with out litigation
& hopefully you can find it in your heart to educate the staff to dealing with physically disabled human beings
and update the staff
customer service skills in the feelings and dealings with physically disabled patrons, patients, staff... I wish
the staff could try a day
in my shoes....instead of playing God!
I still have not been able to hold my new grandson properly for a good picture, he is now 2 weeks old.
Besides family, friends pictures, all can be witnessed through 3rd floor elevator and lobby cameras for my mistreatent
on the 17th,
3rd floor, 4th floor, ground floor elevator cameras and elevator lobby cameras for my door incident....
Sincerely,
Francis Pereira
PS.
This does not involve my daughter being there for 8 days of horror with an inducement because she was told in
front of witnesses
that the baby was to small (although born 6.5lbs 19.3/4" length) and she was obese. She went over 80 hours
without an Epidoral
that she never wanted because she was forced into a c section anyway, she did not have proper food for the first
5 days of her visit,
waited for hours for attention and neglected to a point of refusal yet woken almost hourly at night. (The baby
was not ready and she
basically was induced to have it) Her and her friends were talking of transferring or waiting a week (their conversation
was
monitored) while her friends went to the store the nurses went in and broke her water, her sister was present,
they told her they
were doing it to put a contraction monitor to her cervix (so she couldn't leave) and still no baby so next day
they scheduled a c-
section. She was at 1-4 cm for 5 days and now bruised from needles and her incision is infected (video and pctures)
and was told to
come in Monday (Today) The C section was vertical! Why?
Like I said my daughters birthing has nothing to do with OUR Technical malfunction situation.
Regards,
Francis Pereira
